Tideswell Church Patrons Concert
June 29 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm
We are delighted to welcome back soprano Charlotte Hoather as our guest soloist. Charlotte first sang with the TMVC at the Romiley Forum in 2012 following many years competing at the Hazel Grove Music Festival where members of the choir provided encouragement to her as they officiated at the events. Shortly after this performance she took up her place at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland to further study classical singing. Whilst studying in Glasgow she continued her involvement with the choir performing with them in 2013 at St John’s Church Tideswell for their Summer concert. There followed further performances with the choir at Gawsworth Hall, and the Buxton Opera House in 2013 and 2014 both fabulous venues which Charlotte was thrilled to sing at. To complete the 2014 season, she performed with the choir at the Stockport Plaza alongside the Military Wives Choir.
In 2016 Charlotte gained a First-Class Honours Degree in Music from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, where she finished her studies with Judith Howarth. She then moved to London after being accepted at the Royal College of Music on their Masters of Performance degree where she graduates in July 2018.
Whilst studying in London she received five-star reviews in 2017 for her performance of ‘Uccelina’ in Scottish Opera’s production of BambinO in Manchester, Edinburgh, and Glasgow. In 2018 Charlotte continued in the role for a tour of Paris for the Théâtre du Châtelet before the production moved on to the Metropolitan Opera House, New York for a series of sell out shows.
Charlotte’s professional performances include the role of ‘Jessie Junior’ in Scottish Opera’s touring production of The Little White Town of Never Weary, the role of ‘Zerlina’ in Don Giovanni with Opera Britain, ‘Jane’ in excerpts from The Cabinet of Dr Caligari at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall for Scottish Opera. In July she performs the role ‘Cunégonde’ in Surrey Opera’s production of Candide, then in August she will take on the role of ‘Maria Bertram’ in Waterperry Opera Festivals production of Mansfield Park.
Charlotte’s recent concert appearances have included representing the Mahler society for the Joint Music Societies Dinner in London, Handel’s Messiah with both the Blackburn Music Society and Salford Choral Society, Pergolesi’s Magnificat and Handel’s Psalm 112 Laudate Pueri Dominum with the Thames Philharmonic Choir, and La Dolce Speranza with the Royal College of Music Classical Orchestra.
Charlotte never ceases to delight with her singing and you are sure to enjoy her repertoire at this concert.
